Cherokee Indian

This piece is a stylized 3D sculpt of a Cherokee warrior, presented in a neutral clay render to focus purely on form, anatomy, and silhouette without the distraction of textures or color. He is not missing his eyebrows in the sense that I forgot them. The Cherokee removed body hair prior to contact with Europeans after which they started letting their eyebrows grow out. They generally shaved their hair of but left a lock of hair at the crown of their head. My 4th degree great grandfather would have presented himself this way; albeit, I don't think he would have been built like this guy is.

The figure is built with a strong, heroic anatomy, emphasizing clean muscle structure and clear surface transitions. Attention was given to the flow of the torso and back, with defined shoulders, chest, and abdominal forms that read well from multiple angles. The pose introduces a slight twist through the body and a forward step, giving the character a sense of movement while maintaining a solid, grounded stance.

The head design combines sharp, structured facial planes with a distinctive hairstyle—featuring a pulled-back hair mass and feather elements that help break the silhouette and add vertical interest. Simple accessories such as earrings, an armband, and a crescent-shaped pendant were included to support the character design while keeping the focus on the sculpt itself.

Clothing is kept minimal and stylized, with a single-shoulder drape and a wrapped lower garment. The fabric is intentionally simplified to complement the anatomy rather than compete with it.

This was created in Zbrush as a form study and character exploration, with an emphasis on proportion, balance, and clean sculptural readability.
