Between Blood and Honor

**ArtStation Description:**

This sculpt captures a charged moment of loyalty and fury—two warriors bound by brotherhood, frozen in the instant between fall and retaliation. One lies wounded yet defiant, his shield and spear fallen beside him. The other surges forward, body coiled with purpose, spear drawn back as he rushes to avenge his brother-in-arms.

This piece is a compositional study based upon an actual temple pendentive, designed to function within a curved architectural triangular space. The figures are arranged to follow the implied arc and taper of a pendentive structure, with strong diagonals and counterbalancing gestures guiding the eye across the form. The grounded, reclining body anchors the lower curve, while the advancing warrior rises dynamically into the narrowing apex.

Sculpted entirely in **ZBrush**, the work explores expressive anatomy, narrative posing, and classical heroic influence while solving the spatial challenges of architectural sculpture. The focus was not only on muscular tension and believable weight, but on creating a cohesive, readable composition that would hold its power when integrated into monumental architecture.
