Anubis's Brother Raymond

Anubis's Brother Raymond (ZBrush Sculpt)

What if the ancient Egyptian god Anubis had a brother... and that brother's name was Raymond?

This sculpt is my humorous take on that idea. Raymond is an anthropomorphic canine character inspired by Egyptian mythology, but with a completely different vibe from his famous sibling. Instead of guarding tombs and guiding souls through the afterlife, Raymond spends his time cruising around in classic muscle cars, showing off questionable tattoos, and generally being the family member nobody talks about at divine gatherings.

Created entirely in ZBrush, the project focuses on character sculpting, anatomy, and stylized design. The character features a muscular humanoid body combined with a canine-inspired head, Egyptian-themed symbols including the ankh, a scarab-emblazoned cap, and a modern casual outfit consisting of a denim vest, jeans, and boots. The accompanying classic red car helps reinforce the parody's blend of ancient mythology and modern Americana.

The goal was to create something absurd yet believable enough to make viewers ask, "Wait... did Anubis actually have a brother named Raymond?"

Spoiler: probably not.
