Wolverine Sketch from Lunch

Took a swing at a bold, comic-inspired piece featuring Wolverine from X-Men fame, caught mid-strike with that iconic claw pop. I haven’t drawn in a while and wanted to use practice a bit. I also wanted to lean into a retro pop-art vibe with heavy linework, strong colors, and a bit of grunge texture layered in. The goals was to capture that explosive moment of impact—sharp, loud, and unapologetic (so of course the “SNIKT!” had to be front and center).
I played around with exaggerated arms and contrast to push the sense of power, while keeping the expression simple and graphic. Mixing clean vector shapes with rougher textures helped keep it from feeling too polished.
